It’s the singers who steal the show, with a special emphasis on those who delve into the country genre. Taylor Swift's significant popularity, dominating every state, prompted us to set her aside from these findings. Sorry Swifties!
This brings Miley Cyrus to the forefront as the nation's most searched-for female celebrity. The singer claims the title in an impressive 33 states, including New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan. With Miley’s hit song ‘Flowers’ released in 2023 and her recent success in winning two GRAMMY Awards, Miley's influence and popularity continue to soar, undoubtedly contributing to her widespread popularity in online searches. She's having a real 'party in the USA' with those results.
It’s a family affair as in 2nd place Dolly Parton, Miley’s godmother, takes the crown in 10 states, including her home state of Tennessee, as well as Alabama, and Colorado. Can I get a yeehaw for the queen of country music?
Meanwhile, Kylie Jenner reigns in six states, including California her home turf, along with Florida and Massachusetts. And let’s not forget, Queen Bey, taking the top spot in Louisiana and Maryland. Midway through the Super Bowl, Beyoncé stunned audiences by dropping two brand new tracks, announcing details of her upcoming album, and revealing a surprising new direction: country music. This along with her immense popularity likely played a significant role in driving searches her way. Who runs the world? Girls!
As we transition our search to Canada, our pursuit of the most searched-for celebrities continues.
Once again, Miley Cyrus continues to lead, topping the charts in four regions: British Columbia, New Brunswick, Ontario, and Yukon. Britney Spears takes center stage in Alberta, Manitoba, and the Northwest Territories. Britney's viral dancing Instagram videos have been causing a sensation online. Additionally, her memoir 'The Woman in Me,' which received the fan-voted honor of best memoir and autobiography at the 2023 Goodreads Choice Awards, has likely contributed to heightened searches and curiosity surrounding Britney throughout the year.
In joint third place, we find Kylie Jenner and Jennifer Aniston. Jenner secures the top spot as the most searched-for in Quebec and Nunavut, whereas Aniston takes the lead in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Kylie’s ever-evolving style, reality TV shows and entrepreneurial ventures continue to captivate audiences. While Aniston's enduring charm and acting prowess cements her place in the hearts of fans worldwide.
Completing the search results, Dolly Parton takes the top spot in Saskatchewan. Meanwhile, Canadian and American singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette is the most searched celeb in Newfoundland and Labrador, possibly owing to her performances at the Churchill Park Music Festival in 2023. Renowned as a music icon and a seven-time Grammy award winner, Morissette's enduring appeal and powerful stage presence could also be a reason for her popularity in the region.
